The Lion King shares the fate of the young Lion Prince Simba, who before long must suddenly face his fate of succeeding as the leader of the Pride Lands due to unjust killing of his father, Mufasa. Mufasa, who is a beloved King by all of the Pride Lands, suffers betrayal from from Scar, Simba’s uncle, which leads to his death. This forces the lion cub into into exile for years on end, and this is where his long journey and his subsequent homecoming to The Pride Lands and his rightful place as King.
Taken from the previous 1994 motion picture of the same title released by Disney, The Lion King musical was skillfully transformed to the theater medium by director Julie Taymor and the breathtaking cast and creative team. Its debut in the 90s was the first of its kind, being received positively by critics.
