Disney’s The Lion King shares the fate of the little lion cub Simba, who prematurely is forced to come to terms with his role of leading as the King of the Pride Lands due to unjust killing of his father, Mufasa. Mufasa, who is a supported King by the animals of the Pride Lands, suffers betrayal from from Scar, Simba’s uncle, which ends in his murder. This forces Simba into to escape for a long period of time, and jumpstarts his personal change and his eventual homecoming to The Pride Lands and his seat on the throne.

Taken from the previous 1994 film of the the very same title produced by Disney, The play, The Lion King was beautifully adapted to the Broadway platform by director Julie Taymor and the excellent ensemble and creative team. Its premiere in the 90s was a fresh addition to theater, being lauded by fans at the time.
